    Common Mistakes in Goal Setting

    July 16, 2015

     Common Mistakes when Goal SETTING:

Before you do anything. Sit down in a quiet place grab a pen and a piece of paper and write out what your really WANT. People typically do not achieve success because they have not taken the time to define what they want. Two questions are necessary before anyone reaches a goal: What do you really want? AND what is your level of commitment?

Below are the top 5 mistakes people make when setting goals. Goal Achieving is a whole different process. Suspend your disbelief for now and use the intellectual faculty of IMAGINATION. Do not use logic or reasoning.

    • Our goals are not specific enough. Detail….detail……detail…..and we didn’t set a firm deadline date to achieve the goal.

    • We allow our current results to control what we will choose as our goal. Current results are a reflection of our current belief system. Why would you set a goal based on your current results?

    • We base our goal setting on a plan. Planning comes during the goal achieving process.

    • Wondering whether or not we are worthy of the goal in order to achieve it. Better question. This leads us back to our PURPOSE.

    • We fail to take action because we don’t know every step we need to take to implement the idea or to achieve the goal. The “HOW” is not our job…..We will only see a few steps at a time….it is called FAITH. Use the intellectual faculty of intuition. There are usually 3 things we know we could, should and we know if we would do them it would move us in the direction of our dream.

    • Set the goal to get something instead of the personneeded to achieve the goal……change is andinside out job. WHEN YOU ARE THAT PERSON….you will attract what is needed. If you have to fight to get the goal then you will more than likely fight to keep it. Instead you become that person!
